Notes: Similar appearance to smaller
Australian Pipit but no white
on tail feathers. Rufous rump & uppertail coverts; a dark line
through the eye; a pale eyebrow & pale underparts. Male bill, gape
& inside mouth black when breeding, grey-pink in non-breeding plumage,
like female. Male much smaller than
Brown Songlark. Female much smaller still. Voice: "witchy-wee witchy-woo"
and trills. In lightly timbered habitats w. grassy understorey. Nomadic.
