blue frontal band bordered
above & below by pale blue, extending to behind eye
on male; female has less blue on face.
Ssp zietzi indistinguishable from nominate
petrophila. Lacks the graceful appearance of relatives
Orange-bellied (brighter green plumage,
green-yellow lores) & Blue-winged (brighter
olive
plumage, yellow lores, bluer wings). Unique habitat of open coastal grasslands
& herbfields.
