Notes: Large slender dark cockatoo w. yellow ear patch & tail panels. Male: pink eye-ring, bill
darkens w. age, solid yellow tail panels. Female: grey eye-ring, pale bill, ear-patch larger &
brighter, vermiculated yellow tail panels. Ssp xanthanota & whiteae similar to nominate funereus:
overall smaller size, shorter tail & wings, & smaller bill & claws. Some range overlap w. Red-tailed
Black-Cockatoo. Mostly in eucalypt forests, also banksia, hakea, plantation pines.
