rectangular (cf young
Brahminy Kite) panel in wing separates dark outer primaries from grey
secondaries. When perched tail extends well beyond wing tips.
Juvenile: darker; buff & white tips to upperwing feathers give spotted
appearance. Soars on slightly bowed wings held in a bent M-shape.
Common along coasts, waterways scavenging fish, crabs, carrion.
