Notes: Brownish, mottled, strongly marked w. warm brown tones overall,
a small lilac-pink nuchal
crest on the nape (small, only a few feathers, on female;
absent juvenile). Finely spotted breast.
Duller colours, underparts paler buff-grey
than Western Bowerbird. Loud rasping calls
include
hisses & squawks, mimicry. Decorates avenue bower w. pale objects such as
small bones & shells.
Sedentary. Occurs in open woodlands.
