metallic purple-blue, tipped black then white. Orange legs & feet. Male head & upper neck
metallic green w. narrow white collar, curled central tail feathers, warmer tones to breast, dull
yellow bill, legs & feet orange. Female face like subdued Pacific Black Duck w. yellower bill.
Dabbles, filter feeds, upends. Widespread on lakes, dams, wetlands & waterways in towns.
