Notes: Long-billed, long smooth rear-end, barring on breast often near-straight. When disturbed
it erupts from cover w. loud "chek" call & zig-zags away in flight w. no toe-trailing (cf Swinhoe's
and Pintail Snipe). Skulking shorebird of muddy edges in freshwater wetlands. Breeds in Japan &
spends the nonbreeding season mainly in eastern Australia.
