Notes: Tiny duck. Glossy green upperparts, white underparts boldly vermiculated on sides.
Male (breeding) has dark green head and neck with a white cheek-flash. Male (non-breeding) has
face & chin spotted, neck mottled. Female lacks the dark head & neck, but usually has a strong
dark eye-line continuing back to nape. In flight note all-black primaries, white secondaries.
Cf. Cotton Pygmy-goose. On deep permanent freshwater lakes. Rarely seen ashore.
