Notes: Mid-sized parrot w. red head & white cheeks. Nominate eximius: black feathers on the
back have green margins; rump pale green; blue-margined wings. Cf Crimson Rosella, Pale-
headed Rosella. Ssp elecica rump is bluish-green; male has golden-yellow margins to the black
feathers on the back; female has greenish-yellow margins. Ssp diemenensis: larger white cheek
patches, darker red head. In lightly treed country, open forests, bushlands, parks. Sedentary.

Range from Morcombe & Stewart^©(modified) - hybridises with Pale-headed Rosella in a broad band in N of distribution
