Notes: Plain coloured, dumpy w. long thin forward-curving crest,
short wedge-shaped bill. Very similar to
Chirruping Wedgebill but songs differ markedly. Less contrast crown to crest. Longer
broad white tips to outer tail feathers. Both sexes share 4–6 loud descending
chiming notes. Very wary. Sedentary. In tall scrub of Acacia, Melaleuca,
broombush; often near claypans.
