Notes: Medium sized pelagic tern; smaller, slimmer than Sooty Tern. Narrow
white supercilium extends well behind eye. Adult breeding plumage: bold black cap, nape.
White base to primaries. Non-breeding rarely seen in Aust. Alarm call: "yap, yap".
Plucks prey from surface, or makes shallow plunge-dives.
