Black Kite

Notes: Usually dark brown, w. slightly forked tail, pale carpal bars on upperwings, black smudge
thru eye onto ear-coverts. Head, neck short. Cere, gape, legs, feet yellow; grey at first in juvenile.
Juvenile generally paler, more heavily marked. Voice: see-err like Whistling Kite but mono-tone.
Soars on flat wings, gliding & changing direction w. ease; tail continually twisting, fanned.
Opportunistic predator & scavenger.
