Awning and Screens

Omnistor Awning deployed at Jingellic on the Murray River.

TravelTrucks Awning

An awning makes for a pleasant stop when its too sunny or raining. TravelTrucks developed an add-on for the Camper that consists of a colour-matched fibreglass fairing front and rear and a full-length moulding with attachment brackets for the Thule Omnistor 4900 Awning 3.0 x 2.0 m.

The fairings are essential as otherwise branches would catch in the front and tear off the awning.

The awning winds out manually and the legs that fold into the awing body can be set out on the ground or set into mounts on the side of the Camper.

Sun Screens

Coast Sun Screen on driver's side of Camper.

Its a top priority in hot conditions to keep the sun off the pop-top windows. Their black colour absorbs the heat all too readily.

While having the awning fitted, I also had TravelTrucks fit a sail track to the driver's side of the roof.

Coast Front Sunscreens fit the sail track on the driver's side (3.2 m x 1.8 m) well. And also fit the Awning's sail track (2.8 m x 1.8 m). Together, these two sunscreens do a good job of keeping the direct sun off the windows and the sides of the Camper. The Coast screens come with ropes and pegs.
