Two wooden strips protect the window blinds. Ceiling fan for comfort.
The bed is a permanent double (Ikea Hafslo) 2000 x 1800 x 180mm with 40mm memory-foam topper. This is about the maximum thickness possible without interfering with operation of the windows. The mattress is flexible, which is important for getting it into the Scrubmaster.
Roof down and yet there is plenty of sleeping space.
We found it important to locate 2 wood strips using Velcro at the head of the bed to stop pillows interfering with the block-out or flyscreen blinds.
There is a Caframo Sirocco fan mounted above the foot of the bed. The fan has 3 speeds, is remarkably quiet and energy efficient.
Two really big drawers are under the bed, pull out a long way, and can hold a lot of stuff.
USB/lighter sockets are under the sink and are conveniently in reach.
The overhead light is touch-sensitive dimmable, but must first be turned on at the Touch Screen. There are two separate reading lamps at the bedhead.
It is possible to sleep comfortably in the bed even when the roof is fully down — good for stealth camping.
On cold mornings it is nice to run the room heater for half an hour to warm things up before getting out of bed. A remote switch for this purpose is located at the head of the bed.
