Alarms

An Alarm is Sounding

The Iveco alarm and the Camper alarm are behind this console. The Camper alarm can be temporarilly disabled if essential by removing the lower panel (4 screws) and unplugging the alarm.

There are several alarms in the Scrubmaster. If one begins sounding it needs to be attended to immediately. Is the ignition on? Is the vehicle moving? Is the handbrake off?

The most common occurrence of an alarm sounding is when you are attempting to drive off. An alarm will sound when you release the handbrake if:

A converse of this is that you cannot raise the roof unless the handbrake is on.

If an alarm suddenly sounds while driving along then if a slight application of the handbrake stops the alarm, it is one of the above problems — perhaps the side door has opened by itself (It's happened to us twice! Adjust the door latches.).

If the alarm instead continues then its an Iveco thing. My experience is that:

The TPMS has alarms set for tyre pressures maximum PU=56psi, minimum PD= 24psi and tyre temperature maximum tP=68°C. The values and units can all be changed.

Is the alarm sound coming from the TPMS (Temperature, Pressure Monitoring System) on the lower right of the windscreen? Prompt attention to that can make the difference between needing to replace a tyre or simply patching it. The maximum and minimum pressures for front and rear tyres and also maximum temperature are set and can be changed to suit the driving conditions. For example for highway driving the minimum acceptable pressure might be raised to 35psi, but for sandy tracks where active tyre pressures might be lowered, it might be set as low as 12psi.

The TM4 Watchdog has alarms for GBOX (gearbox) and T/CC (transfer case) temperatures exceeding 100°C. The values can be changed.

The temperatures of the gearbox and the transfer case are monitored by the TM4 Watchdog Temperature Monitor. If overheat conditions occur the device below the steering wheel will buzz. This is highly likely never to occur, but if it does the alarm temperature could be raised 10%.

The Systems Monitor has alarms set for the Camper Battery: 14.4V for maximum and 11.0V for minimum.

If the alarm sound is coming from the Systems Monitor next to the Touch Screen in the Camper then:

On the left is the monitor for the Waeco Fridge. Alarms can be set for the different parts.

The fridge, freezer and indoor temperatures are monitored and can have alarms set. There are no alarms in the colour weather station.

Not an alarm, but when it happens you well may be alarmed! The radiator cooling fan has two speeds. When it starts in full speed, as it does for obvious and not at all obvious reasons (its an Iveco thing) the noise it makes is very loud. Not to worry, its normal.
