Notes: Large rainforest pigeon; foraging on the ground on stocky
pink legs. Upperparts slate-grey;
forecrown, chin & upper throat white, grey
on rest of head & neck; lores black; tail bluish black,
white tips to outer
tail feathers; white belly, striking white “V” on the chest. Eyes dark red-brown
w. pink eye-ring. Loud whoo call repeated monotonously. Sedentary. Almost always
seen on the
ground, where walks strongly, w. bobbing head; typically very alert
& wary.
