Notes: Dark brown; white chin & throat; barred dark-brown &
white belly & flanks. No supercilium.
Female: orange-brown patch on cheek. Ssp
minor is smallest & darker, w. greyish-white of throat
merging w.
olive-grey breastband, creamy-buff belly heavily mottled olive-brown & dark grey.
Ssp intermedia eponymous. metastasis both sexes like nominate male but
breast brownish-grey.
grisescens largest, paler below than nominate. At any
level on rough-barked branches, not ground.
