Notes: Small. Neat black cap covering top & side of head & hindneck, arc of bare white to pale
bluish-white skin over eye, long narrow white crescent-shaped band across nape. Cf White-naped
Honeyeater, Gilbert's Honeyeater. Juvenile more brownish; yellow bill. Ssp inopinatus is larger
than nominate; ground colour of upperparts, especially rump, slightly duller citrine-olive, with
weaker yellow tinge. In moderately dense forests. Gleans foliage for insects, spiders; nectar too.
