Notes: Small, slender. Bright green above, bright yellow below. Male has irridescent turquoise blue
face & forehead, red shoulder-stripe. Female: blue forehead & cheeks, white lores & around eyes,
no red shoulder stripe. Some birds may show a vague orange tinge on belly. Juvenile: like female
but little or no blue on face. Occurs in fringe habitats: favors grassy areas near forest edges
where small groups feed on the ground.
