Notes: Stepped white line on face below eye; heavy black decurved bill; pinkish-yellow bare skin
around eye. The Aust. ssp filiger differs from the nominate in being dark olive-brown above, grey-
black w. fine pale grey mottling on nape & hindneck; buff breast w. faint pale streaks on upper
breast, & bolder creamy streaks & spots on belly. Sedentary. Calls a series of strong whistles.
High & mid-levels of rainforests, gallery forests.
