Superb Parrot

Notes: Large, elegant green parrot w. long pointed tail. Male: bright yellow face & red throat band;
outer webs of primaries dull blue; underside of tail black. Female & juvenile almost entirely green
w. bluish on face; reddish thighs & undersides of lateral tail feathers. Much larger than Red-
rumped Parrot & paler with a much narrower tail than Australian King-Parrot. Calls are a repeated
bubbling chatter. In riverine eucalypt woodland of red gum; also yellow box & white cypress pine.
