 Notes: Large strongly marked quail w. pale breast & belly w. heavy dark streaks. Long bold pale
supercilium. Male orange face & throat w. black patch in breast. Female pale throat, no blackish
breast-patch. Distinctive repeated sharp 'twip-weep' call. In drier grasslands w. well-developed
ground cover.
