Notes: Rufous crown finely streaked white. Coarse white streaking on ear-coverts & breast. Dull
yellow-olive upperparts, cream underparts heavily streaked with black. Ssp alberti is paler & more
yellowish overall than the nominate; a bright orange-brown cap w. prominent white streaks.
Ssp clelandi is smaller & paler & a more greyish back. Ssp whitei is smaller & darker w. an overall
greyish cast. Often high in eucalypt forest, other woodlands where it feeds mostly on insects.
