Notes: Largest quail-thrush. Nominate punctatum male: throat, face black w. white patches;
buff-ochre for female. White tail tips. Black wing coverts w. white tips — absent in female.
Ssp dovei similar, but female has broken black line at lower edge of breast; anachoreta smaller
white tips on median coverts, male slightly greyer on crown, nape. In drier eucalypt forests
favouring rocky ridges: forages in leaf litter. Very shy.
