Notes: Differs from Green
Catbird by large black spot on ear-coverts, browner head, coarser
underparts
streaking of white on brown/green. Juvenile: grey-brown (not red) iris, less streaky
underparts, yellow gape. No overlap with Black-eared Catbird of CYPAL. Spotted Catbird's
crown
is less blackish & underparts are paler & greener & are scalloped
on the belly as well as the breast.
Call of cat-meowing, grating wailing. Tropical
rainforests at all levels.
