Notes: Medium honeyeater of inland Australia. Heavily streaked plumage, large pale apricot
throat & breast. Dark tip to pinkish bill & gape. Crown mid-brown, iris sky-blue, pale grey rump,
'spiny' cheek feathers white. Juvenile 'spiny' cheek feathers yellow, crown & iris brown. Often calls
from exposed perch w. head thrown back. Generally noisy; chortles; liquid whistling phrases.
