Notes: Summer migrant to Aust., seen mostly in non-breeding plumage & similar to larger Great
Knot but has shorter, straighter bill, and darker legs; plain grey upperparts & crown, finely barred
rump & upper-tail coverts; small grey chevrons along flanks; more defined eye-stripe, dark lores.
Breeding plumage: largely rufous underparts: ssp rogersi (~ E coast) more extensive silvery grey
upperparts than ssp piersmai (~ NW) which has more rufous & black on upperparts.
