Notes: Tiny. Adult female has rich rufous chest, extending over throat to sides of head. Smaller
male paler, w. white chin, less-dense & narrower barring on flank. Thick blue-grey bill, pink legs
& feet, pale eyes. Uniformly pale grey across the upper-wings & back. Juveniles are smaller,
darker above, underparts whitish. Moist woodland & grassland habitats. In S, some summer
migration from inland arid regions to areas nearer the coast. Sedentary eg in central NSW, Qld.
