Notes: AKA White-headed Stilt. Tall, slender, white w. black
upperparts & wings, very long pink
legs, thin straight black bill.
Immature: crown & nape washed blackish grey. Juvenile: upperparts,
wings
dark brown boldly scaled by buff feather fringes; dirty grey crown. Widespread.
Common.
Mainly on open shallow wetlands; non-breeders including tidal flats.
Absent from sandy deserts.
