Notes: Large. Ivory bill, boldly coloured facial skin. Black 'trousers'.
Breeding: facial skin orange-yellow in front of eye, blue below eye; gular pouch
pinkish purple. Non-breeding: duller. Juvenile: dark brown above, smudged on breast.
Mostly on deep-water bodies. Breeds colonially mostly on coastal islands.
