Notes: Large. Male mostly brilliant green above; bright red flanks & underwing coverts; bright
blue in bend of wing; upper mandible coral-red; iris red. Female mostly deep red; blue lower
breast, flanks & underwing coverts; iris yellow; black bill. Ssp macgillivrayi significantly bigger
than nominate polychloros, w. a distinctive broad square head; the female has more blue
feathering around the eye. Very noisy. Usually in rainforest.
