Notes: Our only flowerpecker. Tiny. Short bill
& very short tail. Pink-red undertail coverts on both
male & female. Male:
glossy black above, w. bright red chest, black stripe in centre
of belly, black
bill. Female: grey above, pale below, grey
bill. Juvenile: orange puffy bill, fluffy mantle. Immature:
basal half of bill still orange. Occurs wherever plants are
parasitised by mistletoe.
