Notes: Completely black. Smaller throat hackles, no bare skin cf slightly larger Australian Raven.
Iris white. Juvenile pink gape, iris blue-grey; immature iris brown. Often flicks its wings outward
slightly when calling. Calls usually fairly fast & lack the drawn-out wail typical of AR. The only
corvid in Melbourne, Adelaide. Nomadic, often in flocks, when not breeding in territorial pairs in
winter. Open plains, woodlands, towns.
