Notes: Largely plain brown, warmer brown rump, creamy belly.
Long, slightly uptilted black bill.
Red iris in adult. Pink legs. Ssp howei a little darker than nominate magnirostris; viridior shorter,
straighter bill, hint of eyebrow, paler above, darker below, differs from
similar looking Atherton
Scrubwren by
behaviour. In wet forest; active small parties forage by bark-gleaning in mid-
to
upper-canopy. From sea level to at least 1000 m.
