Notes: Small; Substantial black bill & legs;
split white eyering; red eye; no supercilium; varying
white
superloral spot. Upperparts brown, underparts off-white. Nominate ssp
magnirostris larger
w. greyish-buff tinge to sides of
breast & flanks, small faint off-white tips to outer tail feathers.
Ssp cairnsensis has richer buff tinge to sides of
underparts, larger bold white tail-tips.
Inhabits mangroves,
thick riparian vegetation.
