Notes: Distinctive black stripes on white. Long tail. Upper parts light brown to rufous, streaked
white. Female black stripes finer. Ssp diamantina larger than nominate barbatus, & redder on
back. Call a high-pitched metallic twittering. In swamps of tall lignum; forages in adjacent cane
grass, saltbush.
