Notes: Large. Bill straight, tapers to fine point. Yellow iris. White-tipped tail & wings. White under-
tail coverts. Ssp versicolor, plumbea: 'Grey Currawong'. Ssp arguta: 'Clinking Currawong', darkest,
longer wing, bill, tarsus than nominate. Ssp melanoptera, lacks white wing markings, 'Black-
winged Currawong'; halmaturina, similar but longer narrower bill; intermedia: 'Brown Currawong',
smallest, shorter wing & tail. Distinctive clinking call. In eucalypt forests, woodlands.
