Notes: Male: orange-red underparts extending to chin, slaty upperparts w. bold white wing-bars.
Especially female, has small white forehead spot. Female also has sandy brown upperparts,
white eye-ring, whitish wing-bars. Juvenile: fine white shaft streaks on upperparts.
The only Petroica to form flocks. Winters in open lowland habitats w. grassy ground cover.
