decurved bill. Dark brownish-grey plumage
overall, w. white outer
primaries distinctive in flight & at rest. Tail black w. white tip broken
by
black at the centre. Pale underwings contrast strongly with dark belly
in flight. Ssp perthi is very
like nominate cyanopterus,
but less white on primaries & less white in outer tail feathers. Found
primarily in open eucalyptus forests & woodlands. SE birds migrate to N in
autumn.
