Notes: A long pointed crest on the top of its grey head. Mostly pale grey, suffused w. pink on
sides of neck, bright iridescence on wings. Tail mostly blackish w. obvious white terminal band.
Juvenile duller, reduced irridescence & pink suffusion. Orbital skin initially blue-grey, gradually
turning pink. Ssp whitlocki very similar to nominate ssp lophotes, averaging slightly smaller & w.
narrower white tip to tail. Feeds exclusively on the ground. Courtship bowing display.
