Notes: Exceptionally long, pointed tail sets pheasant apart from other chicken-like birds. Typical
male is beautifully patterned in orange, gold, & grey, w. red facial skin & an obvious white ring
around the neck. Female mottled buff, rufous & dark brown above, sandy brown below w. black
scalloping on flanks.

Range: open land with patches of dense cover.
