Notes: Similar to
Baudin's Black-Cockatoo but short broad bill, different habitat. Grey-black
plumage, head blacker, scalloped appearance to body feathers. White ear-covert patch,
white panels in long tail. Male: bill ages black, pink eye-ring. Female: whitish
bill with grey eye-ring. Often in large wandering flocks in spring & winter.
Feeds on banksias, hakeas, pines by cracking open seed capsules.
