Notes: Plain, w. pale iris, deep buff rump, black subterminal band to tail. Ssp reguloides cream
scalloping on rufous-brown forehead. Ssp squamata predominantly yellow underparts, olive upper-
parts. australis has longer bill, somewhat duller plumage. nesa side of head tinged yellow, upper-
tail-coverts pale yellow, undertail-coverts bright yellow. squamata has shorter wing, brighter olive
rump, much yellower underparts. Inhabits open habitats, particularly woodlands, eucalypt forests.
