Notes: Two bands of irridescent feathers on the wing coverts. Grey crown. Nominate ssp elegans
male has rufous brown to light brown forehead; chestnut throat. Female muted, reduced area on
throat. Ssp occidentalis larger. Common Bronzewing is larger, narrower wings, & lighter colours w.
white eyestripes, & more than two irridescent bands on wing coverts. Voice: loud whoo repeated
~2 sec. Terrestrial, in dense vegetation.
