Notes: Small, brown w. mostly white underparts;
bill pinkish; thin white line under deep red-brown eye. Faint
diffuse light brown barring across breast merging into diffuse
streaking along flanks. Juvenile: brown streaking on breast.
Only two honeyeaters in Aust. build a dome-shaped nest:
the Brown-backed & the
Bar-breasted. Often in flowering trees near or
overhanging water, particularly in paperbark swamps.
