Notes: Tall, pale-grey crane. Bone-coloured bill, blackish legs, skull back red (absent in juvenile),
gular pouch (dewlap) appears black. Cf Sarus Crane. Flies leisurely on very broad wings, legs trail
well behind tail. Frequents near wetlands such as swamps, lagoons, claypans, coastal mudflats.
